The Ouassou is designed as a versatile and maneuverable kayak ideal for beach fun. Rear handles allow you to hang on and swim and provide easy access aboard. The Ouassou also handles surf and waves comfortably. The “spatula” shaped hull is derived from surf longboards and rodeo kayaks. The lightweight keel and side rail design provides directional stability and excellent tracking. The Ouassou’s optional knee pad system also allows you to secure your body to the cockpit when you’re looking for greater control in waves or whitewater.
The Ouassou also has three inserts on its hull that should allow the mounting of a set of soft Thruster fins, which will improve its performance in waves. This set of fins will be available as a separate accessory. Its compact shape and light weight make it an easy kayak to maneuver, transport and store.
