The kayak's playful demeanour is evident with the well-defined rocker, lively bilge and (partially) flat-bottomed hull – providing a very responsive kayak with excellent manoeuvrability – making it perfect for playing in the most challenging waters.
Melker Rödlöga comes with a skeg but can still be ordered with a retractable rudder.
With its ergonomic, form-fitting thigh rests, the cockpit is optimized for precise control even in the toughest conditions. The adjustable, ergonomic, padded seat also provides exceptional comfort for a full day of kayaking.
A round hatch (Kajak sport 24) at the front and a large oval hatch (Kajak sport 44/26) at the rear make it easy to pack all the necessary gear and offer An additional 7.9-inch day hatch is placed directly behind the cockpit, where the paddler can easily access a packed lunch, camera or extra jacket.
The small day hatch, just forward of the cockpit, gives you quick access to your essential gear on the move. And the recessed area on the foredeck, between the two hatches, keeps the water bottle or pump in place – or simply out of the way.
The kayak is designed by award-winning design engineer Magnus de Brito, in close collaboration with the design team at Melker of Sweden.
